Abrasiguard Slurry Pipework for Cyclone Feed Lines at Christmas Creek
In 2019, the reliability engineer at FMG’s Christmas Creek mine engaged us to upgrade the plant’s cyclone feed lines.
The engineer wanted to replace the rubber-lined steel piping with Abrasiguard, a high-performance polyurethane-lined slurry piping system.
We manufactured and supplied Abrasiguard straights, bends and lateral spools to transfer slurry from the scrubbing plant to the fines plant. We also supplied Slurryflex mining hose reducers on the slurry pump discharge lines.
This upgrade will double the lifespan of the pipework, allowing the mine to meet its 115 million tonnes per year production target.
