The reliability team at Roy Hill was snowed under with piping maintenance. Until they made this change.
Back in 2020, the team was constantly bandaging the ceramic-lined piping in the spiral feeds. It was frustrating and time-consuming to keep it limping through to the six-month shuts.
On tight bends – like ones in spiral feeds – you need piping that can handle high velocity, abrasive slurry.
That’s why they decided to change to ceramic-lined mining hose bends. Hoses can flex and dissipate particle impact. The tiles are vulcanised into the hose liner for extra wear protection.
Three years later, the Slurryflex CLX bends are still going strong.
That’s a 5x longer wear performance.
Leaking, fast wearing slurry piping could be holding your plant back. Now’s the time to look at how you can do it better.
