If you’re handling hot, corrosive slurry at your site, read this.
Hot, lime slurry was melting the discharge platform hoses at First Quantum’s Cobre copper mine. They were failing far too quickly, increasing discharge times and causing hold-ups downstream.
In this area of the plant, you need hoses that are long-lasting and flexible to lock onto the truck or train. They also must withstand high temps.
Standard mining hose can melt under these conditions, so we suggested they try a Slurryflex mining hose with a high temp rubber liner. The custom liner can easily cope with hot or corrosive slurry and still be flexible and durable.
It’s a safer option for the crew and the longer wear life will help reduce downtime and unplanned shutdowns.
