The Otjikoto gold mine is located 300km north of the Namibia’s capital, Windhoek. Otjikoto is the largest gold producer in the country.
In 2013, Lycopodium were contracted by B2Gold to construct a processing plant at the site. We were engaged to supply 1,767 manual valves and a Special Piping Items (SPI) package to be used throughout the plant. The SPI package included mining hose and industrial hose assemblies, spray nozzles, tank vents, and expansion joints. In total we assembled, tagged, and tested more than 2300 items in our Perth workshop then delivered to site for installation by the on-site team.
The plant was completed within 19 months, ahead of schedule and under budget.
